I tore my right knee ACL 12 years ago doing Karate and soccer. Since I waited 2 years to get it fixed, the doctor removed most of my right knee’s damaged cartilage, smooth out the bone surfaces before reconstructing my ACL. He also said I should not run the marathon. Lately it has been sore a bit due to the combination of more mileage, hill, and speed work. I am trying to be extremely careful with it and am grateful that it has been good to me so far. Thanks for asking.
